Forster B. Irwin, age 82, of Rutledge, was born February 9, 1923 in Claiborne County, and passed away Sunday, September 25, in Mercy Memorial Nursing Home in Monroe, Mi.
He had been ill for two months. He was a member of Clouds Memorial Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Porter and Mattie (Wells) Irwin. He married Beatrice Cupp on June 14, 1941 in Tazewell, and she passed away October 15, 1991. Later, he married Frances Wilma Maples. He worked at the Ford Company Monroe Stamping Plant in Monroe, Mi, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a beekeeper and enjoyed hunting. He was preceded in death by his son: Donald Irwin; and sister: Beulah Day.
He is survived by his wife: Frances Wilma Maples Irwin; two sons and wives: Danny (Ginny) Irwin of Monroe, Mi; David (Sue) Irwin of Montgomery, Mi; one sister: Eula Gray (Bill) Cinnamon of New Tazewell; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Thursday, September 29 at 11 a.m. at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Beeler officiating. Songs by the Liberty Quartet. Burial in the Robinson Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Rod Irwin, Ryan Irwin, M.J. Irwin, Seth Berry, Randy Widner, and Bill Cinnamon.
